How different is the west coast from the east?
What are the differences between the west coast and east coast???...... Where would you prefer to live if you had to choose between california or somewhere on the east coast ??
The west coast is my choice. I live in northern California, about 5 blocks from the Pacific ocean, but I did live on the east coast twice. The nice thing about living next to the ocean is that it is natural air conditioning. In the summer when the central valley is boiling from the heat, the fog rolls in off the ocean, ahhhhhhhh, nice and cool. If I want sunshine and warmth, I need only walk through the park about a mile to around 19th Avenue, where the fog bank ends. Best of both worlds. In the winter, when it's freezing everywhere, the ocean assures that the temperature usually stays in the high 40s or low 50s. For the climate, as well as for the raw beauty of the coastal hills, the High Sierra, and the Shasta-Trinity Wilderness, to name a few places, I love the west coast. I choose California.
The east coast (I stayed in Maryland for about a year once) is very lush, miles and miles of green meadows, but the summers are hot and the winters can be really, really cold. I do like swimming in the warm Atlantic as you go further south along the eastern seaboard, and New York is a nice place to visit. But I wouldn't want to live there.
