Navajo Red
translation of the following into Nahuatl or another Aztec language?
My French teacher wants me to do a presentation on Native American languages, I can do this for Navajo and Lakota, but not for Nahuatl so could you translate the following sentences? Nahuatl is a fascinating language, but unfortunatly I don't know enough about it to translate these?
"Nahuatl is an Aztec language spoken in Mexico by over a million people"
"There are a large number of Aztec languages in central America, with a large number of speakers"
"the Aztec empire fell when the Spanish arrived in central America"
could you perhaps also translate: I am, you are, he is, she is, we are, you are, they are:
I am happy, I am bored, they are sad, the dog is red, the fish is green".
and lastly: "the green fish is in the river". "from the river" "in the river" "to the river"
kind regards, I would greatly appreciate someone having a go ^^

I doubt you'll find any Náhuatl speakers in Yahoo! Answers USA. It's a language question also and this is the travel section. Most people here don't speak Spanish, much less Náhuatl. OK - this is what I found. I hope it helps.

Let me just clear one thing up. Náhuatl was the ONLY Aztec language. The Mexica (erroneously called Aztec) were part of a larger cultural7ethnic/language group of Nahuas , wll of whom spoke Nàhuatl. Also Mexico is NOT Central America. CA is Maya land even though Maxica power was felt way down there.
