Where to sell/consign rare Native American (American Indian) items?
Hi all, I have quite a bit of Indian items--dolls, jewelry, rugs, pottery, etc. (No going to describe in detail so this won't be perceived as a sneaky "for sale" ad) that I would like to sell, but I'm not sure what the most lucrative venue for this would be. Auction house? Web site? Ebay?:)
Certainly looking on Ebay can give you an idea of the value of your items, but you may want to go to a dealer or auction house that specializes in your pieces. A dealer will have contacts and collectors that will be interested in very fine work and willing to pay a good price.
If the items are not fine crafts, antique or rare, then Ebay may be the easiest place to go.
The Southwest area will have a lot of dealers, but large metropolitan areas will also have dealers. Google for your location and send some good photos to those dealers to see if there is interest.
