Dress Deer
Field Dressing a deer?
My husband got a deer from a friend this morning around 9 he plans on bringing it home to field dress it... its only 40 degrees outside. Is it cool enough to wait until he gets home which is about 3 or should i just plan on throwing out that meat?
Im talking about gutting it.....
Well its not going to help you now but in the future take 4 or 5 two liter bottles and fill them up with water. Throw them in the freezer if you have room. When he goes hunting have him throw them in the cooler with the rest of his stuff. If he downs a deer he can field dress it on site then put the two liter bottles inside of the cavity preventing the meat from spoiling. Its a great trick and I haven't had spoiled meat yet. But you should be find. I've shot a deer and not found it until the next day (15 hours later) and I dressed it put the bottles in it and it was still fine. 40 degrees ain't bad. Its just those 70 degree days you really have to act fast on.
