Buffalo Horn
How dechipher Chinese (?) Writing opium pipe ancient water buffalo?
During a trip to Laos I bought from a street vendor is an ancient pipe of a water buffalo horn. It is finely carved and has what looks like Chinese writing about it. I think this has already been used as an opium pipe. I asked a native Chinese translation freinds, but they tell me that the characters are old and they do not know. Are there resources that can look at an image of writing and translate it for me?
Take a photo of it and post it on the net. You Chinese and Cantonese using the alphabet simplified Chinese. But most brands are about the seasons, plants, items and horoscopes. Often they are calendars, almanacs, and proverbs.
