What is the best canned cat food?
My cat is at the vet for a UTI. I have been feeding him Flint River Ranch dry cat food for about a year. I am going to switch dry cat food...which one? AND also start feeding some wet food....what kind? I don't care about the price. I just need to keep my cat healthy.
I think you should skip the dry altogether. Meat is what keeps the cat pH in the proper balance and also gives the moisture necessary so that the urine does not become too concentrated.
Of course a raw meat diet is ideal and that can be a difficult conversion for a cat who has had dry all his life.
I belong to a Yahoo group (WholeCatHealth) and people there are moving their cats from dry to canned to raw. All members are in some stage of this transition so you can share your problems with switcing, get ideas, etc. You can get a lot of support in your program for conversion.
