Horn Hair

my dog has a growth in its ear. she is a 3 year old black lab it looks like a tan horn.?
It is tan and firm. It has a little bit of hair growing at the bottom of it. I'm not sure if dogs can get ingrown hairs or something along those lines. Does anybody know what this is?
