Pilot Mountain
Recommendation for a "sport" bike route that I use for bike commuting?
I currently have a bike 15 years old mountain (ie heavy) with a rack and 1.5 "slicks on the road that I use for travel (16 miles round trip in suburban streets with more traffic lights). I am looking for an upgrade. I went out to some shops and I think I shrunk the low for a bike right over the road. Some models that I try to include the Specialized Sequoia and the driver Trek. I realize that there is a choice of cycling is very personal preference, so I'm looking the wrong answer. I'd like some pointers to more info and also if people have advantages or cons based on experience, I know as well.
As long Trek OCLV rider, I suggest that the pilot. I found aluminum or titanium has a generally more severe and OCLV did a great job of damping road vibration. Newer frameworks such as the pilot project also feel much less wood than carbon frames older. Whatever you buy, I would also recommend the Bontrager Buzz-Kill, which are cards with bar end damper Harmonic built in. .. they really work in killing road vibration. Best $ 10 - $ 15 you'll ever spend on a bike.
