Vintage Old

How do I store vintage photographs of old scrapbooks?

The images are mostly 1920-50, and until some 1970, many have written on the back, got into the "magnetic" old books are not really sticky and photo-safe, and the oldest are mounted with corners in old photo albums (papers are not acid free). The collection also includes clippings from old newspapers and maps Postcards. I want to keep the photos so that no additional damage is done to them, and I may put some in an album again. I make copies, but what do I do with the real photos? Some are stuck in the books in those magnetic photo albums are fragile and difficult to remove.

Well ... I shop scrapbooking so I know what I mean. So here goes: To delete the picture album magnetic sticky, you need a solvent adhesive that will not harm photos. Try a product called Undo which is sold in most scrapbooking stores. Then I suggest you book them of all and also make copies of some High Quality digital. Shop scrapbooking store if possible and if you buy elsewhere, do not buy, unless you know the products are photo safe. In addition, when the purchase of glues and adhesives, make sure the products they say in "photo security." Sometimes, just be acid-free and lignin is not enough. Scrapbooking If the pictures is not possible for you you need to store them in an air tight and light without containment unit. You can buy these stores through photography supply. You should also sepparate each photo with another photo sleeves so you do not stick to each other. Hope I helped!
